Back at it again with my blogging, been gone for a while but here to a new start. Which, will be a series of blogs for my school assignments if you'd like to stay and read then do so and enjoy. :)
A Worldview is a particular philosophy of life or conception of the world and during the renaissance many new worldview's came afloat in order to disprove God/Organized Religion. In this blog I am going to be speaking on different views that came out of the enlightenment and how authentic Christianity differentiates from there views. Rene Descartes known as the "father of Enlightenement" came up with the saying "Cognitio ergo sum" ( I think, therefore I am ) replacing God with a thought and placing mankind with all their doubts, in the center. Along with this came Splitting theology, in which teleological purpose from science began to be replaced with cause and effect

as you can see above the divide that began to happen in this new age of "enlightenment'. A forerunner in this new enlightnenment was Auguste Comte ( 1798-1857) he coined the term positivism which excludes any theological rational thought for authoritative knowledge must be absolutely objective and must be exclusively proved by logic, mathematical formula and or sensory experience. In other words if he couldn't prove God inside the lines of what he claimed to be reality, God was non-existent.
Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) stated that God was just an idea created to justify mans wrong doings. That really religious truth claims were simply inventions of mans psychological self-justification, he also felt that religion led to smugness and self-righteousness as a well as guilt, anxiety, and fear of being found out. Unfortunately Freud isn't to far off from the state of the church in that time, and in our time but there is a faithful people who are authentic christians. Who don't see the church as a place where you can go to be good and justify your wrong doings for the week, we know that works won't save. (“NOT BY WORKS of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” (Titus 3:5). The only form of justification we have is at the cross where Jesus died, and like we see in titus we are renewed with the Holy Spirit. Without that renewal were just working up our conscious and sadly many are doing the same. God is seeking people that will turn away from their desires and give it all to him, that will embrace Him as a Father who loves his children. Perfect love cast all fear and anxiety, the church needs to find their Identity in Christ and understand that it won't always be perfect but Gods love, grace, and mercy are so much bigger than we think. These simple facts if lived would've broken apart the idea of christianity that Freud had against the church.
Karl Marx (1818-1883) believed that religion was used by the upper class for sociological justification, man-made imperialism, way of trampling over others. In many ways he is right, the idea of God and religion had and has been used as a way of making others feel small and allowing one group of people to be "more qualified" for eternity, because of money, status, and relationships. But true Christianity doesn't seek any of these things for salvation. The only way to obtain it is through Jesus Christ. He never stated a certain group could come to him and other couldn't. Man twisted scriptures and made it in its own social club. Taking advantage of lack of education and lack of knowledge to manipulate groups of people. (Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
All in all I made this blog to shed a little light on how authentic christianity, christianity based on the teachings of Jesus can break down "enlightened" religious mindsets. We must represent God and be perfect as He is perfect. (Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5:8)
